I “met” Kirsty in August 2010 when she emailed me out of the blue, asking if I might like to interview her for tTAP. As she wrote in that initial email,
I’m currently in the process of actively deprogramming myself from The Starving Artist mindset so I have a LOT of thoughts on the subject. I’ve also done a lot of writing over on my blog about how artists can use the internet for self-promotion.
Although my initial goal was to interview artists who are already making a living from their creative thing, and Kirsty confessed this was not her, I was impressed by her moxie. Plus as she mentioned, she does know a thing or two about wrangling the internet to be your willing servant.
I thought a conversation between the two of us might offer a few worthwhile tidbits, so I said yes, and boy did we have fun talking!
