Poet, street musician, designer, metal artist, entrepreneur – it seems like John T. Unger’s done just about everything (and had some amazing adventures along the way).
John makes most of his income from his sculptural “Great Bowls ‘O Fire,” but though he’s grown a 6-figure business from his art, he spent a couple of years couch surfing before things took off. Proof that persistence pays off!
As with most of the more financially successful artists I interviewed, John approaches his art business as a business. His latest project is a software solution that will allow artists (that’s us, guys) to easily incorporate e-commerce anywhere online: their website, blog, Facebook or Myspace page…
Sounds like exactly what I need for my website! I’m waiting with baited breath!
(Note: when you get two chatty people together, they, well, talk. A lot. Not surprisingly, this interview went long. You might want to plan on listening in two sessions.)
