Peter Beckley says
Wonderful interview, Cory! Thank you, Patricia, for sharing your story, it’s an inspiration and validation that I can achieve some of the goals I’ve set in 2018. I’m one of those artists who’s now almost exclusively creating work digitally and suffered from imposter syndrome during that transition. Thankfully my interactions with people are markets and festivals where I primarily sell face-to-face (only after overcoming some of the introversion) have reaffirmed that more people see that set of skills as valid, and the work produced digitally as actual artwork.
Similar to the Self Control app, I use StayFocused for Chrome and it has been a life-saver when my willpower just isn’t doing it. I don’t use it all the time, just when I find that my own focus won’t keep me from the time-wasting sites. It’s also clever enough to let me into my business pages on FB, but not my personal profile so that I can still do business/marketing stuff without getting sucked into pics of my friends new puppy.
